Jamie Briscoe

Next to my children, fly fishing is my life… and so the story goes, that since I could walk, fishing has consumed me.
My guiding career began in the blue waters of Baja in 1989. After having spent my youth surfing and fishing in the ocean, the mountains called me to Sun Valley, Idaho and in 1992 I began guiding the freestone and spring creeks of the Rockies. I now split my time between those trout and the anadromous species of Washington/Oregon.
I’m thankful to have lived and guided in some pretty incredible places over the years: Idaho, Montana, Oregon & Washington, California & Nevada, Baja and the Riviera Maya/Yucatán. There are so many more places on the planet waiting to hear my reels sing.
Passing on “the stoke” comes natural, and I love the physics of outdoor sports. For 10 years I have been a certified casting instructor (CI) through Fly Fishers International and I’m a shooting instructor for the National Sporting Clays Association.
As the son of a veteran Navy SEAL and grandson of a WWII navy pilot, I am proud and honored to be actively involved in assisting military veterans with fly fishing and hunting. A teammate of The Word of Honor Fund: a continuum facilitating events for the surviving children of SEALs and Special Ops personnel who die while assigned to a select Naval Special Operations Group: it is in this venue where my teaching style and human interactive skills are fully appreciated.
See you out there!
