Jeff DeBrown

Born and raised in Colorado, Jeff deBrown always loved to fish. He began his guiding career in 1989 in Colorado. Jeff has guided in beautiful destinations like Colorado, Montana, Alaska, Argentina and Chile.
He first began to explore the East Cape of Baja in 1997. Between guiding seasons in Alaska, he would work with Gary Graham who was an early fly fishing pioneer along the East Cape of Baja. In 2001 he would meet his wife Norma, establish a family and began his full-time guiding/outfitting service entitled, The Reel Baja. Since then he has never looked back, becoming one of the premiere guiding operations in Baja.
For over twenty years, Jeff has been teaching and helping his clients reach their goals; whether sight-casting for roosters off the beach with a fly or teasing striped marlin to the back of the boat for a bait and switch, Jeff’s enthusiasm has never wavered. Jeff is a Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) certified fly casting instructor and speaks fluent Spanish. Jeff genuinely enjoys sharing the wonders of the East Cape through his fondness for the locals, its slower paced lifestyle, the food, the unspoiled natural resources and abundant species that make Mexico’s East Cape a destination full of discovery. His goal is always to tailor your trip so you get the most out of your stay. Depending on the season and target species, Jeff also runs special guiding operations out of Cabo San Lucas, Magdelena Bay and other destinations around the globe.
